![]() ![]() The discovery of a new attack on an existing client can get you if you don't update because new data can reach that client and therefore hack you, but the vulnerability has to preexist in the client. To expand on the previous answer as well, the netcode and file attacks still only work if you have the vulnerable client. In the alternate case like Heartbleed where the vulnerability was in there since the start and was only just discovered, not updating will leave you screwed. It's not an entirely counter argument, as in the context of updating or not, that vulnerability still hinges on having the vulnerable client installed, so if a specific version has the vulnerability (the vulnerability was introduced in a new version but wasn't in the old one) not updating will still protect you. It's effectively equivalent to the netcode case, except instead of a directly internet-based attack it's coming through "bad" data input. Doesn't help that tasks gets ignore for every platform, by every company, all the frackin time! And now with google and Microsoft fighting in the schoolyard for 8 year olds, my calendars, tasks, and sync between the devices and accounts I need are all getting messy.Ī tasks to an Android.Good catch that is another form of vulnerability, and is definitely applicable to things on that list that commonly interact with files, such as Audacity and WinDirStat. ToodleDo needs other accounts, and my tasks get out of wack.errors galore with all the links necessary to work. Plus, everyone keeps suggesting the usual "solutions" (such as Birdie Sync, the ToodleDo sync, etc). WHY IN ALL THAT IS HOLY.HAS NOTHING BEEN DEVELOPED TO SYNC LIGHTNING TASKS EASILY AND WITHOUT A CHAIN OF THIRD-PARTY ACCOUNTS? I have little choice, as I must stick with Android. Functionless, no improvements since 2009, no native counterpart on Android. Let's call it.Google tasks is a complete JOKE. It works, has good options and functionality, and is far better than most (Hotmail,, Google). Boy, this is an old thread, and the fact it's here and I am adding to it should be evidence to this issue.įor over three years I've been asking this question and looking for an answer or solution. ![]()
